PRIVACY POLICY OF TRUST LOOP

Dear Interested Party,

Trust Loop values the privacy of its Users and takes the responsibility of safeguarding personal data seriously. The data that you may share through our website will be handled with utmost care and with all necessary measures to ensure its security, in full compliance with current legislation designed to protect the confidentiality of your data.

We wish to inform you that the “European Regulation 2016/679 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of Personal Data and on the free movement of such data” (henceforth “Regulation” or “GDPR”) provides for the protection of individuals concerning the processing of data of a personal nature as a fundamental right. Therefore, pursuant to Article 13 of the GDPR, we would like to inform you of the following:

1. WHO WE ARE

Trust Loop is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. Our website address is: http://trustloop.org. For any privacy-related inquiries, you can contact us at hello@trustloop.org.

2. WHAT IS TRUST LOOP AND HOW IT WORKS

Trust Loop offers its users a software platform accessible through our website, which, through various features and interactions with external providers, allows Merchants to:

  • Centrally manage the reviews of their end customers, including selecting a carousel of the best reviews to display on their landing pages.
  • Actively communicate with end customers to request reviews of the venue and/or product/service purchased.
  • Monitor the progress of reviews and ratings, which are also aggregated among various service providers.

Trust Loop, in accordance with GDPR Regulations, acts as:

  • Data Controller for the data of Users who own businesses of various kinds (hereinafter “Merchants”) and browsing data, particularly the data referred to in points a) and b) of Article 3 of this Policy.
  • Processor for the data of end customers (i.e., those who review the Merchant’s business) provided by Merchants for the purpose of requesting, creating, and organizing reviews. The processing carried out by Trust Loop in relation to these data categories is governed by the “Data Processor Addendum” pursuant to Article 28 of the Regulations. The Addendum is an integral part of the contractual relationship between Trust Loop and the Merchant, along with this notice and the terms and conditions.

Trust Loop does not use the data provided by Merchants for its purposes, such as marketing, market research, communication to third parties, or dissemination. Merchants are responsible for ensuring that end customers are adequately informed that their data will be processed through external data processors, including Trust Loop.

3. COMMENTS

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

4. MEDIA

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

5. COOKIES

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

6. EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

7. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

To the extent relevant to the stated processing purposes, Users’ data may be disclosed to partners, consulting companies, private companies, and third-party service providers, such as IT companies and communication agencies. If these entities process personal data on behalf of the Data Controller, they will be appointed as data processors in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR.

8. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

According to the principle of storage limitation (Article 5, GDPR), Trust Loop regularly verifies the obsolescence of stored data in relation to the purposes for which they were collected. Data is kept only as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by law.

9. WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Users also have the right to request access, rectification, or erasure of their data, restrict processing, object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent. These rights can be exercised by contacting Trust Loop at hello@trustloop.org. Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

10. WHERE YOUR DATA IS SENT

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Trust Loop may also share some of the data collected with services located outside the European Union, particularly through social plug-ins and the Google Analytics service. These transfers are authorized under Article 45, paragraph 1 of the EU Regulation 2016/679 and do not require specific authorizations.

11. DATA PROCESSING METHODS

Personal data provided by Users will be processed using both computer tools and paper media, adhering to appropriate security measures as per Article 5, paragraph 1, letter F of the GDPR.

12. FINAL NOTES AND WAY OF UPDATING

This privacy policy applies only to the Trust Loop website and not to any other websites that may be linked through our site. The policy may change due to the introduction of new legislation, and Users are encouraged to review it periodically to stay informed of any updates.
